Welcome
to Stepping Stones Pre-school! This is a very important step for you and your
child, and we hope the experience of Pre-school will be enjoyable and
beneficial. At Stepping Stones we offer a wide range of activities within a
small group of up to 16 children. We believe thatÉ When the
environment is small and friendly, the learning comes naturally. Our aims are... To develop self-confidence, within a safe and friendly
environment. To recognise the immense value of parental involvement and
to encourage effective communication and interaction. To provide equal opportunities for all families. To encourage children to embrace their natural
environment. We offer your child... A chance to socialise with others, make friendships and
learn to communicate. A child-centred curriculum, which emphasises learning
through play and supports each individual child. A small group of up to 16 children at each session with
each child having a personal keyworker. A Learning Journey for each child including many
photographs and observations. An environment that promotes independence and opportunities
to make their own choices. Opportunities to explore the natural outdoor environment
including regular woodland walks. A link with the Reception Teachers in the local schools.
Our general catchment area includes Almondsbury, Alveston,
Aust, Bradley Stoke, Elberton, Littleton-upon-Severn,
Olveston, Over, Tockington and Wotton-under-Edge. |
Starting at Stepping Stones Before your child starts at
Pre-school you are welcome to bring him/her along for a visit. This is
important as it will help your child to feel secure and at ease here. On the first few sessions you are
welcome to stay until your child settles, or if you prefer we can settle
him/her ourselves. We take children from age 2 (they
do not have to be out of nappies!). When we have two-year-olds in a session,
we have staff just for these children. Session times and venue We meet in Elberton Village Hall
in Elberton, on Monday morning, Tuesday morning, all day Wednesday, and
Thursday morning. Morning sessions are from 9.15am
to 12.15pm, and all day is from 9.15am to 3.10pm. Starting in 2011? We still have spaces left for children wishing to start in
2011. Please contact:
