| Welcome to Stepping Stones Pre-school! This is a very important step for you and your child, and we hope the experience of Pre-school will be enjoyable and beneficial. At Stepping Stones we offer a wide range of activities within a small group of up to 18 children. We believe thatÉ Where the environment is small and friendly, the learning comes naturally. Our aim is... To help prepare for school, in an enjoyable and friendly atmosphere. To provide a safe and stimulating environment. To provide equal opportunities for families. We offer your child... A chance to socialise with others, learning as they play. A specially tailored curriculum, working to approved learning outcomes with the support of a personal keyworker. A small group of up to 18 children at each session. A friendly pre-school experience from 2 years of age. The recommended South Gloucestershire observation record sheets, which are forwarded, with your permission, to the school. A link with their Reception Teacher in all the local schools. We currently take children from Almondsbury, Alveston, Aust, Bradley Stoke, Elberton, Littleton-upon-Severn, Olveston, Over, and Wotton-under-Edge. | Starting at Stepping Stones Before your child starts at Pre-school you are welcome to bring him/her along for a visit. This is important as it will help your child to feel secure and at ease here. On the first few sessions you are welcome to stay until your child settles, or if you prefer we can settle him/her ourselves. We take children from age 2 (they do not have to be out of nappies!). When we have two-year-olds in a session, we have staff just for these children. Session times and venue We meet in Olveston Methodist Church Hall in Olveston, on Monday all day, Wednesday all day, Thursday morning and Friday morning. Morning sessions are from 9.15 to 11.45, and all day is from 9.15am to 3.10pm (including lunch club, which runs from 11.45 to 12.45). We also run a lunch club on some other days, depending on demand. Term Dates 2008 The Autumn Term starts on Wednesday 10 September. We still have a few spaces left for children wishing to start in Autumn 2008, and we are also taking bookings for those starting in Spring and Summer 2009. Please contact: |
